General comments
Katayama-syndroom; praziquantel is niet effectief tegen jonge parasitaire stadia (schistosomula). Daarom altijd praziquantel behandeling herhalen eenmalig na 3-6 maanden.
Therapiefalen na eenmalige dosering praziquantel komt frequent (20-30%) voor. Herhalen behandeling na 4 weken.
CZS localisatie praziquantel met hoge dosis corticosteroïden (prednison 60 mg/dag) gedurende 28 dagen.
